We kicked it off with our 1-8 game and after that we smashed it. Quick sprints added with a huge range of different punchs had heart rates up through the roof. Sweat was dripping off everybody and then we added in a sprawl! Then it got very interesting with the group never having done them before the comments were flying around left right and center much to fowl to post on the website. After a a huge hour we had blood on the elbows of Kim-maree just a reminder of us while she is on her holiday and we had Kylie dry heaving and 30 people watching. A great Thursday night.
Boxing Thursday 20-10-11
Dragon Boating

The team had their last training session today and are pumped to get into it next weekend. We worked on our starts and I can’t give much more away just in case our competition are reading the website and I am sure they are!!! If your free this Saturday the 22nd come down and support the team who are raising money for Breast Cancer down at Weston Park by the lake.
X-Training Saturday 15-10-11

We had the logs out, we had the steps out and we had the group running sprints too. It was a SUPER session this morning and the group put in an amzing effort on all the stations. Some how the pink ladies were all put in the one group minus Annie who was in another group but clearly belonged in the pink group. Big calories at the session and beautifil weather made it a cracking way to start the day.
Remember there is NO X-Training this Saturday the 22nd of October due to our Dragon Boat Regatta.
Kristy’s PT Client of the week

My PT client of the week this week goes to Sarah. Training for only 5 weeks now, Sarah has already lost 17.5cm’s. With a goal to reduce her midsection, tone up, and kick up those endorphins, we have pulled 13 of those cm’s off her belly, toned and trimmed her arms and Sarah is loving her sessions. Sarah’s pet hate is running, but with some gentle encouragement and a few coaching techniques Sarah announced she is buying a treadmill this weekend. I nearly fell over. Apparently now she loves running.. who would have thought? I’m super proud of your efforts Sarah. You have taken a big step starting Personal Training and because of your hard work you are receiving the rewards. Good on you buddy! You wait until you see your treadmill program…..
Tuggeranong Boot Camp – Friday 21/10/11

Our last day of Boot Camp and the girls were still giving it their all, well… when Julie wasn’t distracting her entire group in the circuit. We had 25 women in class this morning, and I’m pushed to find any that can multitask with the story telling and exercising at the same time. One person starts telling a story and they all turn around. Gaffa tape and ear plugs may aid in some ladies goals ![]()
A big congrats to Joey, Mariah and Catherine who all won $100 cash each for three highest point scorers for the boot camp. Well deserved girls, and well done to everyone over the 8 weeks, you were all awesome and super motivated. Enjoy your rest week next week girls, eat healthy and book a massage.
Next Tuggies program now has 47 names down. We will only take a max of 30 at the sessions, so you need to get payments in asap to reserve your spot. First in, best dressed. Plenty of room in civic so spread the word if you know anyone that is keen.
Boxing – Thursday 13/10/11

A whopping session to flog the 37 Pioneers that rocked up for boxing tonight. Pulling over 1000 calories from both sexes is a huge effort, so the group will sleep super well. Great to be back outdoors again, nothing beats fresh cut grass and a beautiful evening belting some pads. Some very amusing banter between the group when they had time to breathe, showing our crew are getting a little too comfortable now with each other. Though the rule from Jenna and I has always been, “if it’s funny, then you can get away with being cheeky”. So between Lach and Jenna, Jimmy and Annie, Joyce and Dennis, Krista and Az, and Gus and Sheena, lord help us. Actually that seemed to be all down one end? Could a naughty corner possibly develop in boxing????
Civic Boot Camp Week 8: Thursday 13-10-11

The City girls finished on a interesting note today with first up a Rat running over my foot then Christina showing us why falling is not a good idea! We headed down to the stairs today with all the bars and pumped out a huge upper body session. The conversation kept the girls interested with Lauren being a bad girlfriend and the man on the bike who felt he owned the path. A huge 8 weeks off the girls we are super proud of your efforts. One more Boot Camp to go before christmas how exciting. Our Player of the day for the whole 8 weeks went to 4 girls a huge congratulations to Janja, Helga, Ana and Toni.
Tuggeranong Boot Camp – Wednesday 12/10/11

The girls were up for a card game at the top of the mountain this morning. Teams of 4, rack the points up for your team, run fast, gamble with the tyre, and remember keep that bar moving! The girls were awesome flying up that hill, some elated at the top to pull double points with a joker. Amazingly Team 3 pulled it 3 times! That won them game with a total of 446 points, though team 2 would have beaten them if they had gotten one of their jokers. Team 2 finished with 357, team 1 – 327, team 6 – 304, team 4 – 292 and team 5 got 252. An awesome session, making hill sprints that slightly more exciting ![]()
Player of the day points go to: Steph 3, Margaret 2 and Annie 1.
Civic Boot Camp Week 8: Tuesday 11/10/11

FITNESS TESTING!!!!! The girls had a MASSIVE head wind this morning down by the lake it was so big that we lost 2 of our cones to Lake Burliegh Griffin Boa Constrictor. After a good long warm up and a few calls to some of the girls asking where they were. we were underway. Vo2 max, Push ups, sit ups and plank had the civic girls scrapping in by the skin of their noses. It has been a massive 8 weeks for the girls and we have not gone easy.
Player of the day points go to: 3 points Helga, 2 points Liz 1 point Zoe
Places for both Boot Camps are filling up very fast so get your names in quick for a spot in the final Boot Camps for the year!
Tuggeranong Boot Camp – Week 8: Monday 10/10/11

The girls were incredible at Fitness Testing this morning showing a massive improvement over the last 8 weeks. The motivation and the dedication this program has been awesome. The girls have showed up, when the rest of Canberra has been in bed. In the pouring rain, at 6am on a public holiday, in the pitch black, but it has all been with smiles and 100% effort. An awesome group with heaps of support and it makes me all fluffy and warm inside to see the girls this morning struggling to breathe but still find air to congratulate and encourage each other on the cardio test. 2 more sessions to go this week and then we all get a well deserved sleep in.
Player of the day points today go to: Mariah 3, Jodie, 2 and Catherine 1.
