Tuggeranong Boot Camp week 2: Monday 31-10-11

The Tuggies girls had a massive session planned by Gen today as our mate from Melbourne put the girls through what could be called as a horrendous session, true Pioneer style! Quick 100m sprints turned into 200m, 300m and 400m sprints and not long after the 400m sprints we turned pink faces into white. The entire group felt each others pain and clappped every person as they crossed the line. With 2.4km in sprints and recovery the girls deserved a huge breakfast. Thanks for the session Gen they girls did ask me though if you were leaving Canberra soon. HA!
Player of the day points go to: 3 points Laura, 2 points Sheena, 1 point Nicole

The rain poured just before the session and then stopped just in time for us to train. we started off with a Huntsman on Linda J’s arm and i am pretty sure i scared her more with my violent screem then the actual spider. Strength and cardio had the group feeling the burn and with Kristy not there it was 18 against one so I was the lone ranger for the hour. Looking forward to a few hard sessions with the group over the coming weeks to get there bodies hot for Summer.

Tuggeranong Boot Camp Week 1: Friday 28-10-11

What an amazing week, first fitness testing then a huge circuit at Tuggeranong and then today a massive 6km worth of running up and down Mt Taylor! The girls were amazing today no talking, no complaining just heads down and 100% effort from the group. Britt leading the pack today making it up the hill for her first lap in 7:30 a huge effort but not far behind her was Peta, Jane, Mariah and the rest of the group. A few dizzy spells from pushing so hard and a few near vomits made this mornings session one of the hardest yet. After the first lap up the girls were all sent back down to pick up weight vests and dumbbells. Kristy and I could not have been more pumped about the effort from all the girls today.
Player of the day points go to: 3 points Britt, 2 points, Jane, 1 point Brooke

Tugg boot camp 26/10/11
Pioneer Training took over Lake Tuggeranong Town Park today and our girls were on fire!!! Only day 2 of this program but the girls are already working as a team and the support and encouragement to one another is awesome. Our new girls have made a huge impression and Jenna and I are so excited for what they are going to achieve over the next 8 weeks. Group circuit work and a scenic run had the girls working their butts off, but no-one gave up. So hard to pick player points today you were all brilliant.

Dragon boat Regatta – Saturday 22-10-11

Kristy and I were at the lake at the crack of Dawn attempting to put up the Marquis although Kristy no doubt could have done it on her own I was having issues! We finally got it up with the help of 3 others and just as we finished the team started to arrive.
Pumped for a big day we had our first race at 9am. Coming in a quick second the girls were shaking from all the adrenalin pumping through their legs and arms. Kristy had arm pump from banging the drum but we were super proud of the whole team. Next race up was SUPER close all 4 leading boats crossed the line in what looked like it was a tough one to pick. As we got our results, we came in 4th but we didn’t care as we knew we had made the finals. The team made the B final so we were in the top 10 teams all day. GO US!! We were all pumped for the final 90 strokes as we headed to the start line. We were off giving everything we had and that was Zena warrior calls, grunting, screaming and by the end MASSIVE shoulders. The final outcome .4 of a second between the top teams ad we came an awesome 3RD!!!!! Not to mention we had a quicker time then some of the teams in the A final but I’m not bragging at all. Thanks to the whole team for an AMZING day
