Pioneer Training shirts can always be found looping Lake Burley Griffin, but this week there was a very special blue shirt making it’s way around. Laura completed her first ever 5km run without any stops! Burning a whopping 855 calories and recording an average heart rate of 182, it was a massive effort and we grinned from ear to ear the entire way! A huge accomplishment, and such awesome dedication to achieving this goal, one that at the start of the year Laura actually laughed at and said “sure whatever, I don’t think it’s possible though”. So Laura J, 5km’s is done, now what’s next??? I am extremely proud of you mate. It absolutely made my day. You are a pleasure to train, and you always give it 100%, no excuses.
Boxing Thursday 16-6-11
The group let loose tonight with a huge session and not much rest for the pad holders. Blaydo hitting one of her biggest calorie burns in boxing to date and Kelly and Belinda even though partnering together put in a huge effort with Belinda burning 600 calories in the hour. Pauline and Lou put their heads down and bums up and the session flew without any penalties given at all. great work tonight guys!
Civic Boot camp Week 5: Thursday 16-6-11
While poor Kristy was stuck at home with a head cold that makes her sound like a man the Civic girls and I started the session in the fresh outdoors this morning. A few of the girls worried we would spend the whole hour out there after a quick few jogs we were inside before they knew it. Fartlek training and abdominal work was on the menu and all I can say is thank god last nights dinner stayed down. The girls put in an amazing effort to get through the session. With next to no equipment the girls had their heads down and bums up. Well done ladies.
We are now taking names down for the next Civic Boot Camp starting on the 5th of July and running till the 11th of August. We are filling up quick so get in fast
Tuggeranong Boot Camp Week 5 Wednesday 15-6-11
The Tuggies girls were treated to the sprints and plyometrics session today. Wondering why we gave them so much rest time will be remembered when they hop out of bed tomorrow. Although the messages have already started coming in about the pain already. The girls did put in a massive effort today and please note that Angela and Megan BEAT Kristy in a sprint, although Swamz didnt warm up, girls she may have had you if she had!!
Civic Boot Camp Week 5: Tuesday 14/6/11
The Civic girls had a pretty big circuit to get through this morning and with only a few lectures through out the hour they all put in amazing effort. Upper body lower body and cardiohad the girls over heating very quickly. With some quick fresh air breaks the ladies were feeling better and were sprinting harder. Karen who was only going 50% today still burnt a whopping 600 calories which mean the girls that were smashing it at 100% would have burnt MILLIONS! Look out to those girls who had bad excuses on not coming today, Thursdays session will be a killer!!
We are Taking names down for the next Boot Camp now so get in fast we only have one more 6 week program then we hit the great outdoors!

If you are interested in hitting the slopes with Kristy and Jenna this year please let Kristy or Jenna know ASAP so we can get numbers.
Please note this year we will not be catching a bus to the snow we will be driving. If you choose to catch the Murrays bus please let me know so we can give you details on how to book it.
Good times!!
Sri Chinmoy 5 Mile Fun Run – Monday 13/6/11
Our crew were pumped for the race today and with a 5 x lap mile course, it was plenty of opportunity to let those crazy legs fly. Annika was determined for a sub 45min time, and with that determination came the lend of my Garmin watch. Don’t let the virtual man catch you Neeks!!! Kate knocked the first mile out in only 4min30sec and was yelled at by wifey and I to slow down. Annika held the virtual man at bay, and Lach and Helga skipped through the course arm in arm. 4 more on and we got Kates pace on track for a perfect 5min/km pace, taught Annika how to use the watch, and Helga and Lach played cat and mouse, but crossed the finish hand in hand. Well done guys, we were super proud of you, and it’s awesome to have strangers saying g’day on the course, because they recognise us from other races.
Tuggeranong Boot Camp – Week 5: Monday 13/6/11
Pioneer Training is going to own the hottest arms in Canberra! Our girls ripped through a huge session of boxing and DB work this morning, and whilst 99% of Canberra got a sleep in, we were hitting it hard at 6am. Sleep in or hot arms? Hmmm, not much of a question is it ladies?! The girls were happy to be getting smashed, most happy that they didn’t have to attempt to do their hair for work. Good work ladies, you are one session up on all the bludgers today!
X-Training – Saturday 11/6/11
Run, burn, Run, Burn! That was the theme of today. You run, partner burns then you swap. 60 minutes of torture. But as per normal, our group grinned and put their bodies into it. Team Wynda banished Kel to the other side of the oval, but she partnered Lach and pulled a huge session. Great work today guys, enjoy your long weekend!
Boxing – Thursday 9/6/11
Tonight was all about calories and our group delivered. Lach was going so hard at it, that he shaved a good 4mm off his knuckles and definately tested out my taping capabilities. Scars and glory are forever Lachy! Good man! Katie took the test of Peta’s punches and with some quick coaching she was all over that power punch and was stepping up to the next level herself. Awesome quick hard session from everyone tonight.
