Tuggeranong Boot Camp Week 7: Monday 21-2-11

Monday morning was the excuse from the group today and Kristy and I were NOT taking any excuses!!.  After giving the group instructions and demonstrations a few times we were finally off.  Tyres followed by logs and med balls the group were pumping out the session.  Most of the girls were heads down working hard and some were worried about getting dirty. That was quickly out of their heads when quickly told to “suck it up princess”!!!!!

Not the greatest start to the week but the girls have had an AMAZING 7 weeks so far.

A great morning to train and the torrential rain held off for the hour that we were on the oval.  With some high intensity interval training the group had their heart rates up and a few faces were red from the quick sprints.  Loads of running man and plank for the group this group will have super strong abs by the end of the year.

Pioneer Training hit MT Taylor with a bang this morning! Time Trials up the mountain and vomits at the top. 7min 48 was the quickets time, Peta clearly had her quick shoes on. Linda J, Romina and Annika close on her heels. 8 of our girls did it in under 10mins. And as usual we seem to inspire fellow trainers as a random man joined in as I gave him 10 seconds to get to our marker. Amazing how quick you can run when 20 women are watching :)

The warm up was enough to get the groups heart rates above and beyond their maximums.  With a rotation through the different types of Punch’s the group were all asking when the session was going to be over!!! Poor Nicole was partnered with Kristy and is now ready for the Olympic games boxing team and the naughty corner were again in fine form getting yelled at.  A great session though guys not so much running next week i promise…..

The Civic girls were treated to a fabulous session in the rain today.  30 second intervals were keeping up the heart rates as we rotated from upper body to legs and to finish off with some crazy ab work.  The best part was the group was soaking wet and so were their towels so it was funny when the girls lay their sobbing wet towels on the soaking wet grass.  Poor Kathy had new shoes on and NO towel so a no win situation there.  A good time though to talk about how long it take them to wash and dry their hair of a morning.  Classic work girls!

Yes Wednesday again lived up to it’s standards!! Rotate, deep breaths, spread em,  all words for what…. stop it my naughty group, all words for the abdominal work we were doing and Romina was beside herself with the comments coming out of Lynda, Annie, Sal and Wendy.  The group were singing in the rain/no rain and Joyce was busting out tunes and I was finishing them with parts of a song no one had ever herd of.  What singalongs was I being told as a kid.   A Great morning for some boxing and laughing as always its a pleasure training these ladies!

Civic Boot Camp girls were hyper this morning as we hit the lake for some sprint intervals.  they thought they could get away with sneaking water bottles into my back pack what they didn’t realise i have eyes in the back of my head!  As we worked our way around the lake the girls had a fluffy moment with the sun rise so fluffy Carla took off her shorts!  Sian had a blinder of a session and stayed on Chris’s heels the whole 5km and while everyone was working hard they still had time to giggle and sing in their recovery.  Phenomenal work by everyone!

Kristy and I take our hats of to the Tuggies girls after this mornings huge effort. Here is an insight to todays session.  Weight vests on and rotated amongst the group, Stef at one point wearing two.  A 6km lake turned into 7km worth of interval sprints for one hour solid. Romina burning 703 calories.  Not one complaint from the entire group and the competitiveness that came out of the girls.  Lucky we do not run a sports team Swamz we would be kicked out of the comp fr be so god damn good!!!  Girls awesome work we are speechless and that doesn’t happen very often!

Player of the day 1 point to everyone

SURFING AT COOKIES BEACH!!!!

The day didn’t start off to great as we all headed down the coast for our annual surf trip.  The clouds were grey and the rain was falling.  As we headed up over Clyde Mountain Kristy calls me to tell me she sees the blue sky ahead.  We pulled up at location to a few clouds overhead and as everyone showed up the blue sky came through and the day went from not to bad to AWESOME!!!!  Beach Boot Camp up first, sprints burpees, push ups more sprints more burpees the group put in one hell of an effort.  Hands down one of the hardest sessions on the beach ever!!  Next up, SURFING OOOOOHHHHHHH YEH!!! We met Graeme from Sould Rider and we got our sexy wetsuits on and we got our boards.  Most of the group of 25 never surfed before hit the sand with Graeme to have a lesson and a few of us hit the waves straight up.  After  a quick lesson the entire group was in the water and wanting to get every wave in.  Joanna, Sara, Nikki and Beck were on fire and Bri finally stood up long enough for a quick fist pump in the air.  Rich got a few good ones and Jacinta showed us all up after spending a month in Hawaii, her surfing was awesome.  Overall a great fun day in the sun.  Thank you all for a fabulous day!!

Today’s X-Training group got absolutely SMASHED!! With Bosu balls, weights and other nasty bits of equipment up one end of the oval and 100m up the other end ab work the group were glad for the hour to be over.  With a few new faces to the group we managed the whole hour without a spew.  Great work guys!
