Verticool Challenge

A few of our Pioneer girls took the challenge to get up Telstra Tower on Friday night to raise money for Camp Quality. Annie running the 403 stairs in an amazing 8 minutes 16seconds in a very HOT Telstra Tower beating her time last year by a few seconds with very little stair training.  Well done Annie.

Blaydo took on the ULTIMATE CHALLENGE running from the bottom of Black Mountain to the top of Telstra Tower.  A very hard course to get up but of course Blaydo made it to the top in 24 minutes beating fellow Pioneer Porter!  Nothing like a bit of healthy competition

Great work to the girls for spending their Friday night running stairs.

A big group for a beautiful day on the oval today and we pulled out the toy box and added in some short sprints and long sprints.  The tyre drags were the timers today so there were no station moves until the pair on the Tyre had done 3 drags each.  The boys putting in some quick sprints to get in over and done with abd the entire group put in a massive effort.  Great work today guys.

Tuggeranong Boot Camp Week 7: Friday 25-2-11

Tuggeranong Boot Camp girls went above and beyond today on Mt Urambi.  With no stopping for the entire hour the girls kick boxed, sprinted the hill and lunged the hill.  Margie and Kel are NEVER being partners EVER again and you know why girls and Helga and Venetia had a bit off a moment in the last 5 minutes.  Tiff was super excited to get her new heart rate monitor up and running until we realised the belt needed a new battery and the girls that did have monitors on our calories ranged from 400 to 600.  Great week girls you put in another massive effort.  Monday is fitness testing so rest up over the weekend and see you fresh on Monday morning.

Boxing 24/2/11

Boxing was a ripper of an arm workout this evening, and you know it’s burning the group when they are begging to do a 400m lap to give their arms a rest! Jodie was in fine form stirring up the group, Mona led the group to the Tarago hoping for an insurance claim, and what can I say about the bedazzled shoes?  Good luck to all our ladies in washing their hair tonight! A spectacular session, and a super trooper effort from the group.

We wish our boxers, Blaydo and Annie all the best in the Verti-Cool challenge tomorrow evening. Rip those stairs up girls!

The girls pulled out a massive session in Civic and are pumped and ready for Fitness Testing next Tuesday. Behave on the weekend girls, you have had an incredible 7 weeks already, let’s smash out our last week.

The Tuggies girls got hit with some upper body weight training today and some abdominal work in which for this entire blog for today’s session I will never mention again.  FINE FORM from the ladies today from their technique to the language coming out of their little angelic mouths.  Stef showed her commitment by coming to the session with a migraine doing the warm up and sitting the rest of the hour out.  While Romina was out corrupting the girls i was watching the girls technique and Kristy was signing  up names for relay for life.  It was all on today, the girls had a great session and a very productive workout!

The Civic girls were treated today to the coldest morning ever!!  It didn’t last long with the massive leg session that was planned but even I busted out a 700m run with the girls to UN-freeze.  Zoe had a massive session running over 4 laps of our mini lake with no stops and the only stop Kathy Vlahos had was to flash me her tan lines.  Christine setting a standard for a 3:30sec for 720m  then J stood up and pumped out a 3:15sec lap.  A huge session to start the week and with fitness testing this coming Tuesday the girls are going to hammer their last results.  Good work today gals!!
