The girls were on fire again today, and come Week 5 of a boot camp, this is quite rare! So with my 10 second moment of fluffiness I thought I would stop the girls to congratualate them on their efforts. With only 3 weeks remaining of this boot camp, the girls agreed the time has absolutely flown! Boxing was on the cards today, but mixed with a  Strength circuit and sprints, it was a whole new level of burning. Wendy broke into the 500 calorie burn which is GI-NORMOUS for partnered work!

Player of the day points go to: Tracey (3), Bri (2), and Joey (1)

Civic Boot Camp - 21/9/10

The girls were up for a big interval session this morning. 5km’s of sprint work around Lake Burley Griffin. There is not a more beautiful place to train in Canberra than here, and when leading a group of hard core women sprinting their little legs off, Jenna and I could only grin from ear to ear. With speed work clearly the focus today, the girls had plenty of rest time to ensure they gave 100% every sprint. Nat had a huge session today, proving that she definately can run with the best of them!

Canberra needs to get cracking on some warmer weather, not that the girls needed it today sweating up a storm!  A huge session, Steffie burnt a whopping 720 calories, Kylie was near vomit and Romina didn’t even look like she had a tyre strapped to her back.   Unreal effort from the entire group, you girls saw the tyres and stepped up and trained hard.  Kristy and I found it super hard to give out player of the day points you girls put in such an amazing effort.

Cross Training graced us with beautiful weather today as we mixed it up with sprints loads of push up, step work and bars.  A huge session and the group put in the hard yards and burnt thousands of calories.  Wendy made huge leaps and bounds getting onto the step which we were super pumped about and Beth and Sian had a killer session.  Great work guys.

Tugg Boot Camp 17/9/10

We finally hit our first serious hill session for this boot camp and Jenna and I were pumped to see how the girls would go. They didn’t disappoint, smashing out a huge 25min hill challenge with awesome results. Next was some partnered dumbbell work and quick sprints, and with the rest at the bottom the girls really started to lengthen those legs out on the incline. Last but not least group section sprints all the way up the hill. The girls put in a team effort together for this one and it was great to see the encouragement amongst the girls and them really stepping up for each other.

Player of the day points go to: Ann – 3, Linda J - 2, and Annie – 1.

Boxing 16/9/10

With a million wee ones having a sleep over in the Mackillop hall tonight we raided the school and scored ourselves an awesome carpeted area, to flog out some huge punches. New Pioneer Instructor Jakey, assisted this evening, and put in a top effort with the ladies. For sure he is going to break some hearts :)    Bec and Blaydo struggled with some of the combos tonight whilst poor Meagan copped a pad in the head as Jodie moved into the baby brain trimester. Awesome group tonight, though we did miss our boys? Where are you all this week?

Civic Boot Camp 16/9/10

The girls were yelling at me before they even got fully out of the cars today about how sore their legs were from Tuesday, but with jenna and I already one step ahead of them, today was to flush them out and rip the hell out of the arms. Chris was on absoulte fire today, blitzing every run and smashing out the upper work. Our Elite Athlete, Bron showed how her upper body strength has improved since she started boot camp, and a few of the girls incorporated their yoga moves into the sessions as well :)    We are super proud of the week you girls have had, awesome effort!

Strength training today had the girls working every muscle in the body.  Kristy was out telling the girls to wash their hair today because it will be very difficult tomorrow.  As we hit week 4 this week the girls strength, speed and endurance have all be tested to the limits.  In 4 weeks time fitness testing results will be smashed and there will be muscles popping out from everywhere.  Keep it up girls!

The girls weren’t sure how to take today session, I don’t think they have herd the work rest so much in their lives.  A huge legs session with lots of jumping and a few sprints in there to really test the legs out.  With warnings at the start if you don’t make the jump you will eat ……. DIRT, the girls made sure that they were clearing the bad bag.  Great work girlies upper body on Thursday to even out the soreness you will be feeling after today.
