The civic girls got their muscle on today as we hit maximum reps in shoulders, chest, biceps and the rest of the upper body.  Thank god today’s session didn’t start off like the Tuggies girls yesterday.  Huge improvements in strength and speed today while not a huge calorie burning session but one which will make them remember Kristy and I for the rest of the weekend.

 TBC 29/9/10

Boot Camp was dead set hilarious today.  From the warm up to the end, the girls were in fine form to say the least.  Joey explaining why she was late and Kristy and I were remembering old times at Mackillop oval with Michelle.  It still cracks us up.  There was some work done today with a challenge set for someone to burn 600 calories and the reward was to choose Fridays session.  Kiz burnt a huge 550, close Kiz but not close enough.  Mt Taylor it is on Friday, maybe some tyres and weights or maybe Kristy and I will pull out the old toy box!!

Player of the day points go to Kira 3 points, Belinda 2 points and Tracey 1 point

Dragon Boat Training 26/9/10

Pioneer is competing again in the Dragons Abreast Regatta this year, and with the squad named and the girls pumped we were busting to get out onto the water for our first practice. Jenna and I paired the girls up, allocated rows in the boat, and then let our awesome sweep Kel do the rest. Boasting an Australian Dragon Boat Team shirt, we are pretty confident that we picked a winner with him. And we know he was just as impressed with our squad, gobsmacked at the size of the biceps and triceps in our boat! A few new tricks for the squad this year, a tactic that had us all a bit muddled at the start, but with another training session up our sleeve, we are going to make sure that trophy comes back to where it belongs!

The girls put on their tutu’s forBoot Camp this morning and were being super special.  It’s ok girls once out 6 weeks is not tobad.  A brilliant morning down by the lake, no wind and the sun was out early.  Once the girls did snap into gear it was on like donkey kong.  Fast feet and quick arms had the girls boxing like pro’s.   With only two more weeks until we fitness test again, the girls will smash the last results.  Keep it up ladies.

First of all a HUGE HAPPY BIRTHDAY to KIMBO have a great day!  No excuses today not even if it is a public holiday.  Great work to the entire group for rocking up, on time and smiling to Boot camp this morning.  The girls had a massive circuit to get through and pumped it out with only a  few minor comments on where I can stick the med balls when the session was done.  Romina a Stef put in a huge effort in  their little group of two while the rest of the groups were in 4′s and thought they had to stay together the whole session.  It didn’t last long, I was onto that real quick with Belinda being made to get her heart rate up to 185bpm.  Anita burnt a whopping 605 calories and im sure the group will find muscles they never knew exsisted.

Player of the day points go to Anita 3 points, Tiff 2 points and Stef 1 point

Xtrain 25/9/10

The X-Training group were on fire today and a wicked session it was.  Legs after legs, folowed by 400m runs and upper body and abs too.  The group put in an amazing effort with the sprint work that was given and Kim gave Lachie a run for his money.  Annie was quiker than Usain Bolt and Sal was hot on her heels.  It was great to have Colleen back in the session and little Lucy the dog came to play too.  Great work today guys.  It only gets better now with the weather heating up and some great sessions planned.

Tugg BC 24/9/10

The girls have capped off probably the best performance week ever with a running session up Mt Taylor. Despite a big portion of the group not partaking in Adventure Fridays, our superstars today kept Jenna and I super happy with their efforts. Linda J led the girls up, whilst Annie took a while to warm up, when we hit the steps she had her cape out and flowing in the wind! A couple of our virgin MT Taylors were disappointed in the view up the top…nothing but fog, but what a way to initiate them to the hill! We again hit the 700′s in the calorie count which has been a bit of a regular number for this boot camp. We only have 3 weeks to go girls! Where has this Boot Camp gone????

Player of the day points go to: Linda J (3), Annie (2), and Linda N (1)

Civic Boot Camp 16/9/10

Civic Boot camp was a hoot this morning with tyres, logs and some more tyres to top it off.  Poor Nat thought the leg burn was bad enough with the Gorilla crawl, then to top it off I gave her Burpees as penalties for not being a Gorilla.  Feel the burn ladies as we only have 3 more weeks after this.  You girls have put in such a huge effort these past 5 weeks an absolute pleasure to train at 6am.
