Kristy and I had the group freaked out when we had set up on the oval and the courts today.  The worst words any group could here coming out of a trainers mouth, “interval training”.  It was a huge session with sprints, kick pad work and steps to put the icing on the cake.  Great work to the group, there was no complaining and they got the work done.

The girls from Tuggies and Civic Boot Camps absolutely smashed their records from the previous session of “MinuteMizer” and with all those records smashed there are now new Champions for the horrendous session of cardio interval training.

Badbag Hopovers: 71 – Jacinta (civic)

Sidestep: 163 – Peta (tuggies)

Wall Ball: 84 – Peta (tuggies)

MB Slam: 74 – Peta (tuggies)

Burpees: 29 – Chris (civic)

Step ups: 75 – Margie (tuggies)

Bosu Jumps: 53 – Alycia (tuggies)

Alternating kicks: 193 – Al (civic)

Skipping Rope: 182 – Ana (civic)

Well done girls! Jenna and I were so proud of the massive improvements in all of your results!

Our Mountain Biking adventure is not to far away.  2 hours of thrill seeking with a mountain bike coach and of course Kristy and myself.  We will be biking on the 11th of September, if you are interested please contact Kristy or Jenna to reserve your place.  This is going to be wicked!!

X-Training 14/8/10 

A very chatty class this morning as the group were split up into stations of 3′s. Ann celebrated her birthday this morning by not having to eat burnt muffins! Peta showed everyone that she is the gorilla queen (thats a good thing), and poor little Ella showed Jenna and I just how green Pioneer Training Jumpers can get…..yummy! Awesome effort to everyone this morning. Remember there is no Boot Camp or Boxing this week, so we will see you all at X-Training next Saturday!

Canberra Times Fun Run

The Canberra Times Fun Run is being held on Sunday 12th September. Enter in the 10km route from Phillip to Rond Terrace and spend an awesome day frolicking in the sun with your fellow Pioneers!  We will meet at the carpark beside the Hellenic Club in Woden at 9am for team photos. The race kicks off at 9.45am. You can register online at www.canberratimesfunrun.com.au   Please let Jenna or myself  know when you have registered. You can wear any Pioneer gear you have (we still have some available to buy), dress up in a chicken costume, or wear anything you feel comfortable in. Just come and give it a go! This is a perfect course for first timers,there is  plenty of room, no hills and a very relaxed environment to run/walk.

Boxing 12/8/10 

A million punches and heaps of ab work for the group tonight. There won’t be any laughing, coughing or sneezing tomorrow without feeling what we worked on. As jenna yelled instructions, I walked the group fixing technique and making sure no-one was cheating. It became obvious something was going on as I approached people my sonar ears could hear the words “quick she’s coming”. You guys have got to be kidding me! Since when have you turned into a bunch of princesses! At least 4 of the couples had this trick going on, and at least 4 couples will be wearing weight vests at next Boxing session!!! And poor Mona…. 45mins worth of leg slap downs next pt session  :)

Next weeks boxing session is cancelled. All Boot Camp sessions, Boxing and Kristy’s PT sessions will resume the following week. Its sleep time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, more records smashed and more calories burnt with the City girls being put through minute mizer today.  Al smashed the kicks and Christine smashed the burpees as Kristy and I encouraged the girls to smash their old scores.  Great work on a massive 6 weeks girls.  You now have 1 week off and then we hit 8 weeks outdoors.  See you all at Regatta point!

An awesome session today retesting minute mizer.  Records smashed and still no vomit.  The girls were still smashing records out after fifty minutes of intense exercises.  This showed the girls a massive increase in their fitness and strength and endurance.  Once we put the Civic girls through it tomorrow the scores will be posted on the website. A massive session to start week 6 off and the girls were feeling last nights dinner.  If you could put the three worst exercises together then add sprints on top I’m sure you would be feeling a little woozy too.  Great job girls just a warm up for what is to come on Thursday.

Week 6 kicked off today and our final two sessions of being in the warm indoors.  With only 5 girls in the group today and the rest of them still in Sydney recovering from City to Surf it was a tough session.  Margie, Kylie, Colleen, Helen and Erin had a rough session with the dumbbells today but put in a huge effort.  Quick sprints and loads of abdominal work the girls are one up on the rest of the group with a big session to come on Wednesday.
