A mix of upper body work today and it was good to see the girls strength improving. With some quick sprints to spike the heart rate the girls had a great session.
Civic Boot Camp Week 3: Tuesday 20-7-10
The City girls had some fancy foot work today and even beat the Tuggies girls in a box jump, jump squat combo. One million calories burnt today and Kristy and I are almost going to separate the entire group from each other. With Kim-Maree and Ann-Maree separated Lauren joined the crew and got in trouble too. I think Kim-Maree is the culprit Swamz!! A FABULOUS session to start week 3 and we are only 3 week from hitting the great outdoors, I’m so excited i may just …… jump for joy!!
Tuggeranong Boot Camp Week 3: Monday 19-7-10
Amazing work by the Tuggeranong girls this morning with some crazy leg work that will have our ears burning for the entire week. Plyometric leg work had the girls bounding onto steps. Helen and Fiona put in a huge effort landing on the two raisers for a personal best and Peta and Kim, well you two girls are no longer allowed near each other. We welcomed back to the group Michelle and Liz who have been gallivanting around the country and we hope you girls had a magnificent time. Now back to 5am starts like the rest of us.
City to Surf Training
X-Training – Saturday 17/7/10
A glorious day to be out frolicking with friends this morning. Jenna had team stations set up for this mornings torture, and some very competitive relay races. Our crew are getting ridiculously fast! Christina showed how much she is getting into this running business smashing me across the line in the sprint, and whilst I took some time catching some air, I grinned from ear to ear, watching the groups speed. It’s so awesome to see you guys improving so much each week. Annie bought along the mini trainers, Jenna and Kristy Cabbage Patch, because whenever she gets in trouble her answer is “It was Dolly. Dolly made me do it!” Lord help us all Annie…..
Civic Boot Camp – Thursday 15/5/10
Interval cardio, strength and sprints – what more could one want to burn fat?! The civic girls flogged this session out and with Spring only around the corner the girls have got the biggest advantage. They have trained super hard all winter, and by the time it’s warm enough to throw on a bikini, the girls will be showing off their smashing bodies with pride! So whilst lazy people freak out at the last minute and then decide to lose some weight for summer, because they have slept and eaten all winter (and not shaved their legs..) the Pioneer ladies will be strutting their stuff.
Boxing – Thursday 15/7/10
Huge cardio planned for tonights session, and every minute seemed an hour for the group. We welcomed Deb along to boxing, and wow what an intro! She somehow managed to keep the bickies down, and partnered up with the firecracker Chris, the two put in a huge session! Lach chased me up the stairs screaming the whole way, and if my ankle wasn’t doing okay before that, who cared, he is one scary man to try and run away from. Hannah and Kim-Maree partnered up together and our little one was letting loose with the punches!
Group PT Smashings
Call me a sadist, but there is nothing more satisfying than seeing your clients writhing around on the ground in pain during a wicked weights session. Ron, Bec and Deb train every tuesday night together and are put through weights sessions that would make you cry. Changing the training principle at least once a month, their strength has progressed out of sight and so has their muscle definition. Training in a small group environment still ensures quality technique and individual programs but encourages that competition and friendly banter. Trying to get that last rep out whilst 3 other people are screaming encouragement at you definately helps get the most out. Even the local walkers clap and cheer in amazement.
Tuggeranong Boot Camp – Wednesday 14/7/10
Wow, for the few girls that missed today, you must have known what was coming, it was GI-NORMOUS!!!! The girls have had a massive week, and if this week’s intensity has anything to go by, lordy what is Week 6 going to be like. No fluffy stuff for our ladies, average heart rates for this week have been over 85% for the 60 minutes. The cm’s continue to fall off the girls, body shapes are still changing, and motivation still for the Canberra Winter is unusually high. The girls are all over it! Well done ladies, Jenna and I are super proud of your efforts and your results….not that we get big heads or anything…
Civic Boot Camp Week 2: Tuesday 13-7-10
The girls were sent a message last night that if anyone walked in past 6am there would be penalties. To everyone’s delight there were no penalties given. Although once we had started the session and the gloves weren’t on quick enough, the threats came out. An empty threat of course as Kristy was in a good mood! The girls put in a huge effort this morning and heart rates were sitting at 97%, a fabulous workout to start off the week.
