Tuggeranong Boot Camp: Week 2 – Monday 22/3/10

Week 2 kicked off with an awesome cross training circuit, unfortunately due to it being dark the 400m was conveniently measured down to about 300m as the girls got to find their own way round the track. But with Carla leading the cheats (hahaha), who would blame the girls? Jodie and Ann were quite a force to reakon with this morning both keeping their heart rates at 95% in the runs. Peta was one with the step today as she impersonated Michael Flattley in Lord of the Dance.  It was great to be back again girls and seeing you all doing so well, now that Torrie is at Civic, we should actually get some work done. xxx

It was last chance training at the oval today in preperation for next weeks event. The group were pulling out their quickest times with even poor Jimmy (budge smug) having to sit the last half hour out because he peaked too early! A 1min 10sec lap is pretty impressive Budge, lets see if you can get 13 of them on Saturday morning? Linley shocked the pants of Rabsy and I with an awesome stride and some quick consistent laps around the 1.40 mark. Bit sneaky for someone who has only watched us race the last two years…

Pioneer Team race shirts will be available to purchase at the event for $33. Jenna and I would like to thank everyone for their participation for the event. We have raised already over $5000, and have a team of 83 people!!!!  Bring on Friday!!!!

At last, we are finally back on the oval.  Quick 4 minute stations today had the group on fire.  Legs upper body and more legs, the group put in a massive effort. Lachie burning a WHOPPING 925 calories and Karen burning a massive 600.  Awesome effort by the group today.

A wicked sunrise this morning not that the Tuggies girls would have got much chance to look at it.  Legs and sprints today and the group were amazing.  No fluffing about straight into it and 100% effort.  Great work to the entire group for putting in.

A balmy night and another huge turnout for boxing.  The group was in a fabulous mood and the punches were flying.  We welcomed a few more new people to the group and of course as always our regulars.  A massive thank you to Dan who helped Kelly fix her car tyres.  Apparently John boy doesn’t want to get his fingers dirty!

A Magnificent morning down by the lake today as we welcomed Ivanka to the group and Emelia back to the group.  It was on like donkey Kong today as the stairs needed to be warn down by the girl’s fast little feet.  With medicine ball work at the base, the group carved up the sprints like a ‘spider’ was chasing them.  The girls are starting to miss you Swamz and my ears are burning daily from the girls cursing my name.  One week down and 7 massive weeks to go, YEEHA!!

We welcomed back Margie to the group today and sent her back home with sore arms back and abs. The girls hit the weights today smashing out a big session on the shoulders. A massive increase in strength for some of the girls and after one session of Boot Camp I already have Annette up on her toes for Push ups. Great work Annette. See you all Friday girls, keep up the hard training.

The Tuggies girls were graced with Possums and the City girls graced with Swans.  We are turning into a zoo I’m sure of it.  The city girls smashed the Fitness testing today and enjoyed a change from their 2km time trial to the Beep Test.  We welcomed Christine and Bron to the group and no Bron, you cannot touch the swans even if you were offered money by a certain someone.  A big 8 weeks ahead of us.  Let’s see which group gets better results in the Beep test. Tuggies or Civic????

Tuggeranong Boot Camp kicked off this morning with fitness and fun.  We were welcomed by the local possum hanging from the tree, lucky Swamz was not there it would have attacked us for sure.  Did you get your shot from the last Possum bite Swamz!

The girls were surprised with the Beep Test today and as we welcomed Annette to the group everyone was very encouraging.  Kristy and I look forward to a massive 8 weeks ahead full of results and I’m sure plenty of laughing.

A fine turn out for Relay For Life Training today as Kristy and I upped the Tempo to get the group fully prepared.  With the warm up complete the group had the target of 6 laps at 100%.  As always the competitiveness came out strong in Keeley and Brian seeing who could get the quickest lap.  Brian just in with a 1:24 and Keeley hitting a 1:25.  Pete had no clue what was going on as he had his ipod in and was walking the oval hitting moves that even Kristy hadn’t seen before.  Great work today guys.
