Blado completes the Half Marathon!!!

Team Pioneer Racing!  Team Pioneer Racing!

After a gruelling training program, Blado slogged out her first half marathon in Sydney on the weekend finishing in an awesome time of 116min 04 seconds. That is an incredible pace of 5min25sec per kilometer for 21km’s! For someone who 18 months ago hated running around an oval, Denise has gradually built up her running fitness and after a taste of the longer track in City 2 surf Blado set her goal of a half marathon before X-Mas. So with an intense program, her IPod in hand, and a big smile, she put her head down bum up and trained hard.

Denise, what you have just achieved is because of the commitment and hard work you put into your training. You are an amazing woman and Jenna and I are extremely honoured to be a part of your accomplishments. Congratulations on an amazing race!

4 of our pioneers took part in the Community CPS triathlon yesterday at Yarralumla Bay, and clearly had way too much fun as nearly every photo that we got had a smile!!! The girls did extremely well, Bris team battled the long course and didn’t have any stops, whilst Scotty and Nicole hit the short course. Whilst it was Nicoles virgin triathlon, you would never have guessed as she looked super comfortable then entire way. Scotty cleared the water first in her group and led the pack out on the bikes. With all the mayhem of million on bikes everywhere we are still waiting to see if she came in one of the top positions for her race! Well done girls, you did me extremely proud! Jenna is giving you a big thumbs up in Perth.

All girls group this morning, with our fellas clearly sleeping in and what a tremendouse effort they put in! 200m worth of lunges, a million kicks, pushup variations that had the girls nearly in tears and intense ab work to ensure everyone remembers me tomorrow when they laugh or cough. Awesome effort to everyone. And as for John boy handing back his adopted child, well, at least it made us laugh, good luck to you Brooke!

Jenna, John and I would like to wish Denise (Blado) all the best in her first half marathon in Sydney tomorrow! Blado has been extremely committed to her training program and is well prepared for the gruelling run. Congratulations on your dedication to your goal Blado!

Good luck also to Noni, Bri, Scotty and Nicole who are competing in the triathlon tomorrow being held at the Yacht Club.

The dreaded hill….and again it didn’t disappoint. John and I set up a super circuit for the girls today and they felt every second of it. A huge workout with every struggling and finding all the stations tough. Gasping for breath in between changeovers, the girls didn’t get any rest and yet no complaints???? The girls are really stepping up this boot camp and have left their princess moments back in October!

Boxing – Thursday 19/11/09

Boxing 19/11/09

20 brave pioneers battled the 36 degree heat in boxing tonight, committed to achieving their xmas goals. A super arms session with boxing, pushups and isometric work to ensure everyone has trouble with the hairstyling tomorrow! A top effort from everyone tonight, great to see everyones strength improving, and some nice tone coming out on those arms.

The girls were worked by stealth today with running, stairs and thowsands of burpees all along to our card memory game. Bel and Bri were on fire with their tactics and awesome communication. Janja, Claire and J caught up quickly, but Erin did everything she could to sabotage the game by moving the cards around – CHEATER!!! The girls were then put through their paces with some quick ground sprints before running back to Regatta. Great job girls.

I promised the girls no pushups this morning, so they had a million sets of abs instead. Core work on the agenda this morning, so a hard session of boxing and abdominal work kept the girls busy, but of course not to busy for our random conversations and fits of giggles. Az demonstrated the new style of reverse crunch, Gemma nearly had a vomit, Torrie and John argued (whats new?), we were attacked by the psycho lawn mower man, who clearly was having a bad day, and we welcomed back our gorgeous Steph Porter! A fun filled morning, lots of smiles…..pity its Point Hut on Friday ladies!

Still no Pioneer baby….come on Corrie!

Civic Boot Camp 17/11/09

The girls were on fire today as we took the pads and kicked our way from Regatta to the Carillion. With a stop to hit a circuit of stairs, kicking and running at Rond Terrace, an interesting conversation about nude yoga, an attempted kidnapping on ladies in another boot camp group, the girls had run 6km without even realising! It’s not too often we get back to the utes and have burnt over 600 calories and the girls are thanking you for a wonderful session…  You were all phenomenal today! John and I were super proud of you all. A special mention to Connie and Kathy for the effort they put in today, and Bri for her support as Bels new running partner!

Week 4 kicked off with group circuit around the 400m track today, and with only 2 drink breaks allocated the girls managed to pump out 8 laps around the oval! Missed with Core work, Strength and Agility exercises the girls got an all over session today and even got to cool off in the sprinklers. We farewell Jenna for the rest of the week as she treks across the country to be there for the birth of her little niece. Good luck Corrie with the deplugging!
