Some fun in the sun today, 1 hour 15 minutes worth of it to be exact.  An extended X-Training session today as we had to cut it short the week before.  The group put in a tremendous effort with kilometres run and lots of upper body and leg work put in there to. As we hit the end of the session abs was definitely the icing on the cake with the group feeling muscles they thought were never there.

It could not have been a more fabulous morning at Pine Island today.  As John and I took the girls off the oval and we hit the sand with a vengeance!  The girls knew that they were in for a massive session when John and I pulled the tyres out of the Ute.  Alycia trained so hard on the sand today her new shoes fell apart and I had to break Annie and Shayne apart for fighting who was the oldest in the group.  Let’s just keep in mind you both still young at heart.  Peta was beside herself that Swamz and I had corrupted John and now he is just as nasty as us.  Keep giving them penalties John, deep down they do love it.  Great session today girls have a fabulous weekend!

Civic Boot Camp 29/10/09

A huge boxing session for the ladies today, and whilst we all mourned the story of the puppy kidnapped by a pelican, there were hundreds of calories burnt and thowsands of punches thrown! The girls were pumping out some awesome tricep dips, Jacinta and Claire managed to do them with me holding their legs in the air! Bel got some ferocious blocks out and will certainly be feeling it tonight when she backs up for the boxing class at Mackillop! Terrific start to the boot camp girls. What is in store for next week…..

A beautiful morning and the girls were all out of bed early and raring to go (except for Daniella and Laura, 1min late =10 burpees!). Gemma nearly didn’t make it though, apparently her dream was that good she needed a bit longer….! The girls smashed through a massive strength session, poor Michelle won’t be able to write today after being partnered with Torrie, and Kira and Az both managed some face plants as the arms gave way during pushups! Annie and Jodie both copped penalties to the pole (why do I own the naughty clients?) whilst John and Torrie gave each other enough lip to keep everyone amused for the session. When will you girls learn that John is super quick with the back cheek! Our new girls are settling in very nicely, god knows what they think of our group, you are all deadset nutters! Have a top day ladies, I’m going to get my blood tests from this tatoo…..

It was time for the Civic girls to do their fitness testing and after explaining the carillion run time trial the girls knew we meant business. With the first girls coming across in under 10min though it was clear that this group is pumped to smash out the next 8 weeks! The whole group put in a fantastic effort in all elements of the testing, and also along with Jess and Michelle yesterday, Jacinta joined the 5min plank group! Well done girls bring it on! Jenna, John and I are pumped – results, results, results!!!!

As the Sun came up we knew we were in for a beautiful day.  I was smashing the group at X-Training while Swamz was getting the crew ready for what was going to be an exciting day.  The group rocked up before 8am as we set up camp right on the finish line so that our families and friends could cheer us on.  Leanne one of our Civic Boot camp girls is the head coach of a Cheer Leading group and had organised a group of around 10 girls aged no more than 10 to come a cheer the Pioneer crew along.

9:15 was our first race at this point in time I had still not arrived at the Regatta I had told Kristy to stall the boat so i could make it from X-Training.  As the clock hit 9:07 i sprint my little heart out to the start line lucky to see the girls were just about to get in the boat.  No time for nervous pee i got in just in time.  We headed out for our first race.  It was a smashing race, the nerves were fresh in the air, or was that the smoke we left behind smashing the race and coming second in our first race to a boat of mostly men!!

One hour off to relax and focus for the next race.  Our Cheer girls were on fire getting a crowd while they cheered away.  Did i mention the girls are ACT champions in Cheer Leading!!  Second race is up and we are a little more confident this time around.  Not quite winning again but we made it to the finals.  The girls worked so hard as a team and stayed together.  Great encouragement from our drummer at the front the girls were on a high.

As the day comes to an end we had one more race to go.  The gun went off and so did the Pioneer boat.  The best start we had had all morning we were head to head not that it mattered as we were going for the quickest time in the all Females category.  The girls hit a 1:02 in our last race very proud of the entire group.

We didn’t win our category but we did win BEST War cry.  Thanks to our little Cheer Leaders making us proud.  Kristy and i would like to thank the team for a great day and to all the family and friends that came to support.

A beautiful morning on Mackillop oval today as we learned we had muscles in our legs that we didn’t know we had.  Plyometric leg session with sprints added on top.  45 minutes was all the group needed for this horrendous leg session as I had to jet off to our Dragon Boat Regatta.   Next week the group were promised a one hour and twenty minute session to make up for the short session this week.  See you all next week for a mammoth session!!!
