Civic Boot Camp – Week 3: Tuesday 21/4/09

A glorious morning for a run around the lake! With the mothers day classic fun run coming up, Jenna and I thought a trial run on the course would be good for the girls confidence, as quite a few thought it was unmanagable. Well didn’t they get a big surprise at their results! The girls crossed the line in 40min, and that included a stop for some pushups and ab work, and a heap of lap backs to push the quicker girls through! Not that we want you to run back the other way in the fun run girls!!! Tremendous effort from everyone, a few of you girls should easily knock the 10km over in top time!

After Kristy and I had a huge weekend of fun and fitness Monday morning Boot Camp was always going to be FABULOUS!! Mt Urambi was up this morning and so were millions of Running Man sprints and Push ups.  It was super fresh but the girls warmed up quickly with laughter with Annie showing off her new Pioneer Training Head gear.  We love it Annie!!  Everyone having a massive session with girls burning 500+ calories great work to everyone.

Player of the day points go to 3 points Romina, 2 points Helga 1 point Annie (for your hard efforts not head gear)

Jenna and I embarked on our yearly trip to the Fitness Convention that took place at the Convention centre on Sydney Harbour on the weekend! And yes silly us picked only 1 lecture for the entire weekend which meant 11 sessions of practical for us!!! HOLY GOOD LORDY! I can’t tell you how many times I swore under my breath at the supposed “only 30 seconds left team you can do it!!” You know what??? THAT WAS THE LONGEST 30 SECONDS EVER!!!…GET YOUR STOPWATCH OUT!!!  So after a very sore and battered friday and saturday, Jenna and I decided to finish our weekend off with an awesome lecture, or was it awesome because we got to sit?

So overall, we picked up some cool ideas for an awesome indoor boot camp program we have coming up, bought some new toys, met up with some instructors from canberra and all over the world, got smashed by the top 5 instructor in the world – Jay Blahnik, learn’t a couple of new things in the latest research in stretching and nutrition, did some crazy moves on a TRX and bosu balance trainers, and of course got ridiculously sore and bruised!

Just when the girls thought MT Taylor couldn’t possibly get any worse, we threw it in with boxing! An huge calorie burner for the girls, with Margie pumping out over 800 for the hour. A great session girls, and an even better effort to finish if off encouraging each other to keep pushing right to the end!

Player of the day points go to: Margie -3, Nat -2, and Torrie - 1.  A big thank you to Bec for taking over from Jenna and I for the last bit of the session!

First things first, Trace you knew it would go up!   What a smashing session, after Tuesdays massive legs session the girls were walking like cow boys off the big dude Easter egg. Upper body smashing and hill sprints now you won’t even be able to hold on to your horse’s.  Great week by all and you have definitely worked off those eggs you all ate.

X-Training class this Saturday

The X-Training class this weekend scheduled for 8am Saturday at Mackillop will not be run by myself or Jenna, as we are away attending our yearly Fitness Expo in Sydney! So look out the following weekend for more little toys, ideas and knowledge to torture you with!! Don’t think this is a good opportunity for you to sleep in and bludge! Go to the oval and meet the group for your own workout/play! For those that are still committed and keen and for extra brownie points, be there at 8am. And practice all the weird and wonderful exercises you have learnt! ……Then you can all go have brekkie together!

A huge endurance agility session for the group today as we pushed them to their limits. The girls quickly put Jenna in a feral and penalities were given almost immediately! But what a session!!! The mix up locations throughout the weeks is giving the girls a massive variety, not only in training but with surfaces as well! Whilst on wednesday they faced a million little rolling hills, today they had an oval under 10cm of water! Yee Ha! Now this is boot camp, lets get down and dirty girls…

Fantastic session from everyone even though we had to scream at you to push yourselves!  Player of the day points go to: Lynda M – 3, Dee -2, and Az -1!

And to my darling splinterburger you get 100 player of the day points! There, am I forgiven yet????

Well it looks like no one got Easter eggs besides Karen over the weekend because Kristy and i only received one egg today.  A huge egg at that! Although the girls worked their little bums off this morning which makes me think they had a couple to work off.  Either way a brilliant start to week 2 with a step and skippping session. Eggs will be jelly tomorrow or should i say LEGS HAHAHAHHA, Great session by everyone and i know you laughed at my little joke do not deny it. im hypo off the sugar in my BIG EGG.

Don’t forget mothers day classic coming up 5km no option for our Pioneer’s!!!

The girls were in for a big chocolate easter egg burning session this morning with Romina hitting the 802 calorie mark in 1hr 24min! The girls were taken on an adventure through the back of Urambi this morning, and smashed the running making it further then we have ever been before! Not too bad considering the girls were weighed down with dumbbells and weight vests! An awesome session from everyone today, extremely hard for Jenna and I to pick the player of the day points.

Player of the day points go to: Shayne -3, Blado -2, Romina -1.
