Our last day for Boot Camp # 9 today and what a cracker it was!!! The fitness test results were phenomenal! We started the session off with meaurements which as usual were all fantastic, then re-tested the girls on their cardio, strength and core fitness. You girls absolutely blow us away with your effort and achievements! This day makes all those dark early mornings, cranky faces, giney penalty pole runs, and torture sessions so worth it. Be very proud of yourselves ladies, you have all come so far and have done so well, and look FANTASTIC!!!! Enjoy your week’s rest and sleep-ins, and we will see you for Program # 10 starting on Monday 9th March.
The final player of the day tally winner is Kath in first place with 13 points, Second place to Lynda M and Linda J on 12 points and Third place to Felicitie on 11 points. Congratulations girls for being such great boot campers.

With only a small group of 16 tonight, the group were put through their paces with running and combinations. Getting the calories up and the sweat out was the main priority tonight as the group smashed their way through the session! Great work to our newbie colleen, who didn’t stop smiling the entire hour!!! A big welcome back to Splinter who has rejoined us in the last fortnight, we have missed that cheeky smile!

Last day for our Boot Campers this morning, and because we are giving everyone a week off next week, we were out to ensure they still felt us from this week! After a ridiculously hard running adventure on Tuesday, the girls were today put through a horrendous upper workout and then had to run backwards up the hill!!!!! Heavens….and with a few special phone calls to a certain someone who turned their phone off and didn’t come this morning….LOOK OUT AT PT TOMORROW!!!!
Jenna and I have had an awesome 4 weeks with you girls, you have been a terrific group and we can’t wait to start the next one. And yes Helen, we will see you there to! Don’t think I’m going to let you get away that easily….

Team challenge day in line for the girls today so that we ensure everyone is fresh and raring for Friday’s fitness testing! We started with team relays to get everyone pumping then sent everyone off for the ball point game. Scottles team were penalised 30 points for cheating, so were behind the game before it had even finished!! Silly move, as we know how competitive the girls get for the team challenges, so they were never going to get away with it! Lynda, Blado and Bec took out the ball challenge with a very neat strategy of team work. Funny that.
The group then were put to the card memory relay, always the amusement for us trainers. Scottles, Lee and Kath made up for their lost points and took the game out with finding 8 pairs, just nudging out Linda, Ann and Torrie.
Total points for the day: Scotty, lee and Kath – 90 Darci, Bri and Helga – 65 Linda, Ann and Torrie – 135 Romina, Stef and Margie – 115 Lynda, Bec and Blado – 185 Annie, Sal and Felicitie – 55 Jodie, Michelle and Nat – 55
Today’s player points go to: Blado, lynda and Bec for 3, Linda, Ann and Torrie for 2, and Romina, Stef and Margie for 1.

Second last session today and rumors of a run were floating around the group. They were right in some respects, we ran up stairs, down stairs, up hills and down hills and around the lake. The girls put in a huge session of running and legs today and I’m sure you all burnt THOWSANDS of calories. Those legs will be a little tender tomorrow Kristy and my ears will be on fire. One more session to go gals you all did fantastic today.

An awesome step and leg session for today’s ladies smashing those inner thighs, ensuring everyone walks like a duck tomorrow. Clearly our girls just get way too excited and try and do everything at a million miles an hour, so it was tough getting them to slow those zig-zag drives down, but hey, never happy are we? Too fast, too slow….. we are tough on you girls! Enjoy your waddling around, we have games day on Wednesday, how good is your eye sight and your memory?
Player of the day goes to: Annie – 3, Liz – 2, Stef – 1.

We started off the half a tad slow, perhaps a bit too confident since the opposition were down some players, but we kicked in and started running the other team around a bit. At half time the other team asked to forfeit due to their lack of numbers, but we lent them Kim-Maree and Kim and kept playing. Both girls played awesome for the other team but couldn’t help them as we won the game 8-0. TJ had a blinder today scoring her only goals for the season, and managing 3 in one game!! Again some great saves from Fiona, and again we come away undefeated! Only one game to go to take out the season as premiers!!!
W.A.G Triathlon – Sunday 22/2/09

Up early on a Sunday morning 3 Pioneer teams and 1 solo Pioneer showed up and blitzed the woman’s and girls triathlon. For once I was not the one needing to go to the toilet, the nerves were raw on some of the girls faces. Going off in waves our swimmers got off to a BRILLIANT start and made it through the big crowd with flying colours.
Annie our solo Pioneer first out of the water and still had enough energy to give a massive smile. Lee had even more energy and adrenalin as she jumped in the air as she entered the compound and screamed at the top of her voice WOOHOO. Bri made a huge sprint out of the pool as she always does and made it looked like she didn’t even swim, and Kelly was so quick she pumped the swim leg out before Kristy and i could scratch our heads.
Off to the ride and Annie in her new suit was off and going. Hot on her heels were the rest of the Pioneer teams Jodie and Torrie and Noni on her band new spanker of a bike. All the girls left dust behind them in their competitors faces. After a huge 14km bike ride the ladies flew into the compound for the last leg.
Darci was out first for a quick 3km sprint and that she did. Being the first Pioneer Team to cross the line great work team Noni, Bri and Darce you girls are starting to make a great Triathlon team. Next across the line was Jodie. Jodie pumped out two legs of the Tri and made Kelly, Kristy and I super proud. Next to fly across the line with her hands in the air was Felicitie. Torrie, Lee and Felicitie completed their very first Triathlon today and Kristy and i were blown away with your effort and enthusiasm that’s what we LOVE to see. Then before we could take our next breath Annie flies around the corner and through the finish line like she had a double shot short black and not to mention a massive smile. Great work to the whole Pioneer Training squad a great effort by everyone well done!!
Kristy’s PT of the Week

My PT of the week goes to a well deserving Bec!! Bec has been on a tough upper body weights program over the last 8 weeks, and has shown a dramatic increase in her muscle definition over the last couple of weeks. Mixed with her Boot Camp training and recently joining in on the Moto X boys training sessions, Bec is trimming down and ripping up. Bec also completed her second triathlon last month in the Canberra Challenge doing particularly on the bike leg. So there isn’t a lot this girl isn’t good at considering she also runs an easy 5min/1km pace over long distances and holds her own at group Boxing sessions. Well done Bec, keep up the awesome work, you are looking insane!!! Just keep away from the damn tim tams!!!

The oval was freshly mowed for this morning’s training which helped a few of the group to knock their PB’s out of the park again this week! A great effort from everyone as we pumped out seven laps today and went in tag team formation. We only have 5 more weeks until the event, so make sure you register and get some family, friends or work colleagues to sponsor you so we can hit our target of $6000 for this year! Just a reminder next weeks session is from 9am to 10:30am still.
