X-Training – Saturday 24th January

A tough leg session today, intervaling the strength with short quick runs and cardio. Pity for the girls who backed up after last nights fun run! Lots of stretching for you this weekend! Even a few that are competing in todays enticer triathlon and tomorrows sprint triathlon, braved the session. But Jenna and I had our nice hats on and modified their exercises slightly to save their legs for their events. Great effort today girls, good luck walking tomorrow!

Pioneer Training dominated the event tonight with our team outnumbering the entire field!! All dressed to the nines in their spunky uniforms, the group ran extremely well and kept the race caller busy as we smashed it across the finish line! Congratulations to Felecitie, Torrie, Jason, Kara, Anita, Romina and Nat for completing their first ever Fun Runs! Congrats also to Shayne, Kim, Annie, Ann, Kelly, Sarah and Kim-Maree for competing again in another great fun run to mark off the growing list!

Jenna and I would like to thank you all for competing so well and for looking so wonderful in your team outfits. The support you show for one another in these events is wonderful, and we are extremely proud of you all! Which was of course told to us over the microphone at the event a thowwwwsand times!

Kristy’s PT of the Week

My pt of the week this week goes to Lachlan! Lachlan starting his training with Pioneer Training 12 months ago when we put in our team for the Relay for Life event. Since then Lach has been taking part in our group exercise sessions, fun runs, adventures and of course some pretty full on personal training sessions! Lach has lost 15kg in 1 year and along with his beautiful wife Helga who has been training with us as well, this amazing couple are well on the road to a whole new lifestyle, running fun runs together, climbing the Sydney harbour bridge, flying down white water rapids (sometimes even out of the boat!) and are also about to compete in their first adventure race together!

Lach has shown an amazing improvement in all aspects of his cardio and strength fitness. Understanding his training is specific to his goals, Lach pushes past those limits and gives it his every last bit, trusting that another goal will be ticked off that sheet if he pushes through!

Lachy, you are an absolute delight to train. You have blown us all away with your determination and you are looking amazing!!! I am looking forward to 2009, and that you will be enjoying this christmas at your target weight and fitness…. and then we will start on the marathons!!!

Tuggeranong Boot Camp – Friday 23rd January

The girls were treated to a choice in boot camp today of Boxing/Skipping or a Static Strength class. Whilst most opted for what they thought was an easy class in the hall, a brave 12 joined me outside for the boxing and skipping. The girls experimented with new skipping moves today much to their amusement. At least it gave them a bit of a break with the boxing and running they had to do in between!! But an awesome effort put in by all the girls who barely got two seconds break through out the hour!

Jennas report back from the elasti girls in the hall was awesome! Although very tight, the girls did extremely well to get in some crazy positions and to hold themselves there! Hence why I took the boxing class!

Player of the day points go to (for the hall girls): Kathy – 3, Jodie -2 and Michelle -1.

Player of the day points got to (for the court girls): Stacey – 3, Lynda – 2(not for her skipping crossovers though!) and Carla – 1.

Boxing – Thursday 22nd January

The crew from boxing tonight were put through thowwwwsands of punches and crunches tonight which will ensure everyone has a good sleep with the beautiful storm! An awesome improvement from our new girls who are throwing some mean crosses. A big shout out to splinterberger, we miss you, and are looking forward to your return! It’s never been so quiet at boxing! Bring back team Wynda!!!

John Prutti – Proudly sponsored and trained by Pioneer Training

John returned from injury last weekend to start 2009 off with a bang as he blew his competitors off the track at the Lake MacQuarie Summercross last weekend. With three races set for the day, the first being his first back from a horrendous wrist injury, John crossed the line in sixth place. A bit hesitant that race due to some bike problems in practice, John threw caution to the wind and carved up the next two races crossing 1st in both!

A fantastic effort John! We wish you the best this year and will ensure you are in peak physical condition to keep everyone else looking at your back on the track!
