A big day on the hills this morning at Urambi. The girls were put through a time trial from the bottom to the top, and then a 1 -10 time trial. I won’t repeat some of the profanities used at the session, but the girls went awesome! Scotty achieved her highest amount of calories burnt in a session with 612, whilst Romina despite a chest infection managed 650 with her galant effort!

Player of the day points for the hill time trial went to: Denise – 3, Gen – 2 and Anna -1. Denise knocked 28sec of her time, Gen 2min 09sec and Anna 2min 25sec! Well done girls!

Player of the day points for the 1 – 10 went to Bri – 3, Margie – 2 and Romina – 1. A special mention to Bri, who didn’t stop once! Unreal!

Dennis started Personal training two months ago to help his fitness during his daily workload as a builder. Just turning 77 recently, Dennis has already shown amazing improvements in his flexibility, balance and endurance due to his personal training sessions three times per week. Little things that Dennis thought were long gone due to his age, he has now gotten back through an intense program set for him by Kristy. Not only is he the funniest fella around, but he can pack a mean punch and can dance like Fred Astair, all at the same time.

It has been an absolute pleasure to train Dennis. His improvements are obvious every session and it is extremely rewarding to hear every week something new that he can now manage to do at work that he hasn’t been able to do for years! With his weight and measurements dropping as well and healthier eating habits, Dennis now has a new lease on life! Look out world!!

A strength and core workout for this morning x-training session made for a very chatty and amusing hour. The group were kept on the spot for the entire time working up some pretty intense burns in those muscles. For a session that had no cardio the calories were into the 500′s showing that those ab muscles were switched on, or all the cheekiness given went to some good! Welcome to our new South African, Annie, into the group, she did extremely well for her first time!

After the Broncos v Storm fashion parade had finished this morning kicked off with some plyos and sprints, followed by an agility course that would challenge anyone at 6am in the morning. Topped with 100m sprints that sent a few people green, the girls hit in the 700 calories. We finished the session with a speed ladder play off as quite a few girls had shown some hidden talent in that area!! Venetia was the crowd favourite but it was Darci that came out in front in the final beating Bec.

Player of the day points went to Darci – 3, Gen – 2, and Denise – 1.    GO STORM!!!!!

Civic Boot Camp Week 4

The final day of Civic Boot Camp #1 lead the girls to a tough plyometric sprint session.  First up was hill sprints of travelling lunges followed by a run to our next destination. Awaiting the girls was lots of bounding work with 80m sprints.  A huge session by all, Oli and i were so happy with the effort you all put in.  It was a pleasure training you all BUT……… No Goodbyes we will see you all on Tuesday for Boot Camp #2.  We cant wait.

After a very amusing game of rob the nest with the medicine balls where the girls got a bit carried away (or I should say a crate got carried away), we got stick into a quick intense workout. The girls got pushed hard and early and then coasted into some strength work.

Player of the day points go to: Ann – 3, Kim – 2, and Venetia – 1. Terrific high intense work girls! You killed it….or we killed you either way you rocked!!!

Wendy has been training with Pioneer Training for over a year now, attending personal training sessions weekly, boxing and x-training session weekly and has completed a boot camp and two super circuits. Wendy has lost over 45 cm in girth measurements and has blown girls half her age out of the park with her strength and capability! Over the last 6 months Wendy has tripled in cardio fitness and will be competing in this years Tour De Femme.

Currently on a strict eating plan and even stricter exercise regime that consists of up to two hours per day in exercise, Wendy’s commitment to her personal training program is second to none. Others can only wonder how to find the determination and courage she possesses and those that have seen the daily exercise program can only admire what this woman can do!

As Wendy’s Personal Trainer, I am proud of what she has accomplished and admire her for her dedication and to be able to get through some crazy killer programs I come up with! Even though she does give me grey hair. Well done Wendy, everytime I look at you I smile with pride….even if I am yelling at you at the time!

So…holy hell we are sore from this one! We couldn’t have activiated any more muscle fibres in our upper body unless we were dead set in the Cirque de solei! It hurt to put a singlet on! Thank god for legs tomorrow….. yes I know i say that now.

After last nights storm it turned out to be a beautiful morning by the lake.  The girls pumped out an upper body and legs circuit with running in between. Covering up to 4km in the running the girls were exhausted and were happy to know it was finally cool down time after a huge 50 minutes.  A huge improvement in everybody’s running.  No doubt about it girls, you would keep the Tuggies group on their toes!!
