Boxing – Thursday 31st July

A bit of a change for the group from just boxing, todays session incorporated kickboxing and leg strength. Over 800 kicks later, the group struggled to stop the leg jellies, but will be happy to know that their thighs, hips and bums are going to look great for Spring!

Laura is one of Pioneer Trainings quiet achievers, always ready to give her sessions 100% and with minimal fuss. Laura has gone from struggling to run short distances to completing a Time Trial run from Pine Island to Gordon this week. Laura looked like she swallowed her tongue when I told her what we were doing, but quickly took a positive attitude towards the idea and off we went, burning a massive 812 calories and only taking 45min! A huge accomplishment for anyone let alone someone who 3 months ago thought they would never run!

Laura every week manages to perform way above her expectations, and burns a whopping 550 – 800 calories per session. Laura is also averaging a 7cm loss in girth measurements every month.

Well done on your commitment to your training Laura! All the hard work you put in is paying off. We are extremely proud to have you as a part of the Pioneer team!

A huge Medicine Ball session early this morning… (After we got the cool tunnel ball and over -under ball out of the way!) The girls should be truly feeling their arms and abs by the end of today.

Todays Player of the day points went to: Scotty 3, Denise 2, and Jodie 1. Great work girls!

” Life is in the here and now, not in the there and afterwards. This day, with all the travail and joy that it brings to our doorstep , is the expression of eternal life. Either we meet it, we live it – or we miss it.”                                                      – Vimala Thakar

Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb

Pioneer Training Adventure – Climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge!

Not only was it climbed, we ran, frog jumped and travel lunged it! Who said it was supposed to be hard. Not for our group. The twelve Pioneers hammered it up the bridge, whilst Margie clung to her ladder! God love her, she did so well. Black hands and all!

We didn’t think we would even get out there to climb it considering 6 of our group set the metal detectors off. Once the rubber glove came out though Logan coughed up whatever he was hiding. Once we were kitted up in our secret service parachute suits with our elastic tie handkerchiefs, we were off!

A massive thank you and congrats to the group for a terrific day. You all should be very proud of yourselves. What may have once been something you may have found a challenge, you killed it on Saturday. You made me very proud.

Now we have to burn the calories we put back in at the bar afterwards! Not mentioning any names. And yes, I do remember who wasn’t indulging afterwards!

Archie and Charlie, in training for Motorcross. Archie is 3rd in NSW, whilst also pulling Rider of the Year in ACT for 2007. Specific fitness training has been an integral part of Archies success, and is now in his second year training with Kristy. Charlie is a regular Top 10 finisher in the NSW Amcross Series, and is looking to climb to a higher ranking starting his Personal training this week. Look out Charlie!

Pioneer Training would also like to wish John Prutti a speedy recovery after having wrist surgery, after a fall off his motorbike in training.

I should have know better than to put the group of clearly very competitive women through a mini indoor sports round robin this morning. The girls didn’t hold back at all, with the first aid kit coming out twice, 1 group break up, a broken stereo, and numerous bruises! When I booked the indoor hockey sticks to use, I considered putting up our insurance, but after this mornings performance, I think Netball is clearly the more dangerous sport. With Soccer a clear second!

Despite the craziness, the group had an absolute ball and burn’t over 500 calories! Hopefully Liz doesn’t need stitches, Anita needs to be signed up by an American hockey team and as always Coops succeeded in taking out the opposition!

Awesome job today girls, Congrats on the huge effort you put into the 5 games you played. Player of the Day points went on Team performances. Scotty’s team pulled 3 points each, Wendy’s team pulled 2 points each, Anita’s team 1 point each, and unfortunately Liz’s team didn’t get a win on the board at all today.

Have a great day girls! Happy Birthday Anna! Don’t eat that cake!
